Bhubaneswar: Left-arm spinner Dhiraj Singh will get ‘cricketer of the year’ award at a special function to be held at Bhubaneswar on April 11.
This was announced by Shaid Sportings and Maruti East India on Wednesday.
Singh has been picked for the prestigious award for his outstanding performance in the 2009-10. He will get a cash award of Rs 11,000 and a trophy.
The orthodox-spinner had a superb ranji season last year where he scalped 25 wickets in five matches played for Orissa.
His bowling against Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in particular was best and picked seven wickets each in both the matches. Similarly, Dhiraj also a five-wicket haul against Gujarat and Hyderabad last season.
